I'm from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I've heard 1971 incident from my grandparents. From 1947, we were being treated in an unwanted manner by west Pakistan. Bengalis were 56% by overall population of Pakistan then. But Pakistani leaders never recognised Bengali language. They never accepted our culture. 70% of the export products were from Bengal, but 75% of the budget was used to build west Pakistan. A lot of incidents had happened. Then came 1970 election. Sheikh Mujib won the election but west Pakistan didn’t handover the power. Rather started genocide on 25th march, 1971. Over 3 millions of Bengalis died in that 9 months of war. More than 2 lacs of women had been raped. My grandfather always cried whenever he talked about 1971. Pakistan owe a national apology to my beloved Bangladesh. We know what a nightmare it was for us.
